About FUPFA

The Friends of the University of the Philippines Foundation in America (Friends of UP or FUPFA) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in California in 1982 after the visit of then UP President Edgardo J. Angara, to galvanize the support of the UP alumni in the United States and Canada. Since then, UP Presidents Jose V. Abueva, Emil Q. Javier, Francisco Nemenzo, Emerlinda Roman and Alfredo Pascual have visited with alumni organizations to further strengthen Friends of UP’s role as a major fund-gathering organization. FUPFA was organized to have the incumbent UP President serve as Chair of the Friends of UP, currently held by President Danilo Concepcion since 2017. The Friends of UP currently maintains an endowment fund in excess of US$1,000,000.

The Chair appoints a trustee to be the Vice-Chair, who also serves as the Executive Director (ED). The following have served in the capacity as Vice Chair and ED:
